About

JULIA COOMBE

Julia was born and raised on the North East coast of England and obtained her law degree at the University of Teesside before emigrating to Canada with her family in 1999. She is now a very proud Canadian Citizen. Upon relocation to Canada, Julia spent the first 12 years of life in Canada living and working in Alberta, first in Fort McMurray and then Calgary, where, whilst acclimatizing to the cold and the snow, she completed her articles and was called to the Bar in 2003.

Julia’s interest has always been in immigration law having navigated the process herself initially in obtaining a work permit and study permits for herself and her family and then through the process of obtaining permanent residence and ultimately obtaining citizenship as soon as she became eligible.

Julia’s early practice background was in general practice and she has had a decade of experience primarily practicing in Family law, Probate, Wills & Estates, Real Estate and Immigration.  Julia has also completed collaborative and mediation training in order to better facilitate client’s needs for a resolution based service.  However, since early 2016 she has been fortunate to be able to focus solely on practicing in Immigration law.  Julia especially enjoys assisting couples and families reunite and reside permanently in Canada  through available sponsorship programs .

Julia believes that one’s own personal experiences and having an understanding on a personal level of the immigration process can be invaluable in offering others relatable help and advice. She enjoys meeting new people and guiding them through the process of studying, working or emigrating to Canada; taking great pride in helping to make things a little less stressful for her clients.

Sonia looks forward to serving this community and helping clients navigate the immigration system.

  • Thanks to Julia we had no issues receiving our permanent resident status! She is very knowledgeable and pays great attention to detail (, which was quite important to me). Our meetings were always pleasant and we trusted Julia every step of the way :-)! -Norie and Chris

  • Julia is absolutely the best! She handled our case with expertise and was on hand to answer the millions of questions that pop up night and day. Her kindness and sense of humor are second to none. There are many un-enjoyable aspects to the immigration process (hours of paperwork and figurative eons of waiting), but having Julia on our side was positively priceless. Knowing how to submit your paperwork perfectly the first time saves you so much time and money you can think of her services as a solid investment. We are so happy we had Julia there to help us through the process and couldn't be happier! Thanks Julia!

  • Julia is incredible to work with because she is so patient, knowledgable, approachable, and kind. I felt overwhelmed and unsure about how I would immigrate to Canada/if it would work. If you're immigrating right now, I'm sure you are experiencing many stressors on top of the paperwork and process of actually moving your whole life. The moment I met with Julia I felt at ease because she made it so easy to understand, and I knew she genuinely cared about my situation. She will listen and help you find your best option. Cannot say enough about how wonderful she is!

  • Julia is the consummate professional and a credit to her industry. Her intimate knowledge of immigration law and Canada's immigration system (enhanced by her own personal experience) is beyond reproach. Julia filled me with confidence as she guided me through the process of applying for PR via the family sponsorship program and an open work permit, patiently explaining every detail throughout the process. Quality lawyers who are also genuine, real people are a rarity, a combination that sets Julia apart from any lawyer I met during my 30 year legal career. Julia treated me with the utmost respect, courtesy and fairness, including financially. I will continue to engage her for all my ongoing immigration needs and highly recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for an honest, fair immigration lawyer.
